Fruit Atelier
Drop cheerful fruit into a basket, build satisfying merge chains, and grow a watermelon harvest.
Fruit Atelier
Drop fruit into a basket, and two of the same kind become the next size up. This 2.0 edition rebuilds the old Neon Fruit Merge from scratch. The eleven fruits are drawn with their own shapes, down to a bunch of grapes and a crowned pineapple, but physics treats every one as a circle.
From cherry to watermelon
You only drop the five smallest, cherry to orange; the rest must be grown. A merge scores by what it creates: strawberry 10, grape 25, lemon 50, orange 90, peach 150, apple 240, pear 360, pineapple 520, melon 750, watermelon 1,100.
Two watermelons are harvested instead, leaving the basket for 2,500 points, which is why there is no time limit. A run with a watermelon counts as a success, and the score is submitted either way.
Chains
When a fruit created by a merge merges again within 1.2 seconds, the chain steps up and that merge is multiplied: double for the second link, triple for the third, up to five times. Harvests count, so one at the end of a five-step chain pays 12,500. Parking fruit beside one a size larger sets chains up.
Watching the dotted line
A fruit whose top sits above the dotted line fills a red ring around itself, and if any ring fills, the run ends. Timers are per fruit and reset once it is back below the line; fresh drops get up to 1.2 seconds to fall in first. The trap is merging above the line: the new fruit inherits the fuller timer, so a bigger fruit still poking over can end the run at once.
Normal has a 400-wide basket, three fruit of preview and 2.5 seconds of grace. Hard narrows it to 344, shows one fruit ahead and allows 1.5 seconds. Hard drops bigger fruit too: grape, lemon and orange each come one time in four, where Normal gives cherry, strawberry or grape six times in eight. Each difficulty has its own leaderboard.
A watermelon is 220 across, so two never fit side by side even on Normal; keep the space above your first one clear. Drops have a cooldown: the next fruit is ready once the last one touches something or 0.95 seconds pass.
Controls and records
- Mouse and touch: press inside the basket, slide to aim, release to drop.
- Keyboard: ←/→ or A/D aim, Space or Enter drop, P or Esc pause.
A dotted guide and a faint fruit mark where the drop lands. The game pauses when you leave the window, and Finish & save score on the pause screen submits your current score. Local best is kept per difficulty on this device, apart from the leaderboard.
