Neon FreeCell
Solve verified FreeCell deals with two to five free cells and race the clock.
Neon FreeCell
Classic FreeCell with one important promise: every deal has been solved by a computer before it reaches you. If you get stuck, the mistake is somewhere in your moves, not in the deal. Deals use the same numbering scheme as Windows FreeCell, and the deal number is shown in the top bar.
The goal is to build all four suits from Ace to King. Columns build down in alternating colours, any card can fill an empty column, and each free cell holds one card. A card goes home by itself once both opposite-colour cards that could sit on it are already there; Aces and twos always go straight up.
How many free cells you get
Easy gives you five free cells, Normal four, Hard three and Extreme two. Each difficulty has its own pool of 250 verified deals and its own leaderboard. Easy allows five hints and Normal three; Hard and Extreme have none. A hint is not a solution, just one legal move, preferring a foundation play.
Empty columns are worth more than cells
You can move a run of cards up to the number of empty free cells plus one, doubled for each empty column. On Normal with four open cells that is 5 cards, or 10 with an empty column too; on Extreme it is 3 and 6. An empty column you are moving into does not count. Kings can only move to an empty column, which makes a King in a free cell an expensive guest. Early on, dig out buried Aces and twos.
Undo reaches back 400 moves and also reverses the automatic foundation moves that followed. Running out of moves does not end the game.
Time is the score
Only a finished deal posts a result: your clear time in seconds, lower is better. The clock keeps running on the pause screen, including the automatic pause when the window loses focus. Once per attempt, New Deal swaps in another verified deal of the same difficulty for a 30 second penalty; spent hints stay spent. Your best time per difficulty on this device shows on the start screen.
Controls
Click or tap a card to send it to the first legal spot: foundation, another card, empty column, then free cell. Picking a card mid-run takes the cards below it. Drag to choose the spot yourself; legal targets light up. Long columns scroll with the mouse wheel.
- ←/→ move between slots, ↑ to the top row, ↓ to the columns
- Space picks up the bottom card, Space or Enter drops it, Enter alone auto-moves
- U or Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) undo, H hint, Esc cancel or pause, M sound
