Neon Brick Breaker

Master rebounds, power-ups, and fifteen handcrafted stages in a polished neon brick breaker.

Neon Brick Breaker

Fifteen hand-made stages played in order. Break every breakable brick to move on; clear stage 15 and the run counts as a success. Colour shows durability: cyan takes one hit, pink two, yellow three.

How the stages ramp up

Stage 1 launches the ball at 600 pixels per second with a 190 pixel paddle. By stage 15 the ball starts at 1,180 and the paddle is 104. The ball gains speed with every paddle hit and brick destroyed, and from stage 6 each return trims the paddle until the next stage resets it.

Steel bricks (from stage 3) never break and do not need clearing. Bombs (stage 5) destroy all eight neighbours and chain into nearby bombs. Locks (stage 7) bounce the ball like steel until every key brick is gone, then break in one hit. Sliding rows start at stage 9.

Scoring

A brick is worth 25 points times your multiplier, which counts bricks broken since the ball last touched the paddle: x1 for the first three, one step higher every three after that, up to x6. A paddle touch or a lost ball resets it. Chipping a brick or hitting steel gives a flat 10.

The big numbers are stage clears: 16,000 plus 3,000 per stage number, so 19,000 for stage 1 and 61,000 for stage 15. No life lost on a stage adds 2,000 plus 400 per stage number, and finishing all fifteen adds 60,000 plus 10,000 per remaining life.

Items and difficulty

Broken bricks drop items 20% of the time on stage 1, down to 8% on stage 15. W widens the paddle 1.4 times for 12 seconds. M splits the ball, up to five, and only the last ball falling costs a life. Score boosts last 12 seconds at x2, 8 at x5 and 5 at x10. The higher of boost and combo applies, never both. A lower boost caught during a higher one keeps the higher value but resets the timer, so an x2 during x10 stretches the x10 to 12 seconds. The green item adds a life, up to five, or 5,000 points when full.

Standard starts with three lives. Expert has a 1.42 times faster ball, a 68% paddle, 40% of the item rate and one life. Each difficulty has its own leaderboard, highest score first; your best score and furthest stage on this device appear on the start screen.

Controls

There is no camera shake; sound and hit effects remain.
