Sequence Memory Test

Watch four colored pads light up and repeat the order. It starts at 3 signals and grows to 10 by level 8.

Sequence Memory Test

Four pads, red, green, blue and yellow, light up one after another, and you press them back in the same order. Level 1 starts with three signals and each level adds one, so level 8, the last, asks you to hold ten. Get all eight levels right and you have finished the test.

The sequence replays from the start

The order is not reshuffled between levels. Level 2 is the three signals from level 1 with one more on the end, and level 3 adds another. Each level still plays the whole sequence from the beginning, and you have to enter all of it from the beginning too. In practice the only new thing to learn each level is the last signal; everything before it is a check on what you already know.

The sequence itself changes every run. When you start, OWOGG sets the order for that run, and when you finish, the server replays what was shown against what you pressed before it accepts the record. Memorising an earlier run does not help with the next one.

How a level plays out

After a short pause the pads light one by one for 0.42 seconds each, with a 0.18 second gap between signals. Each pad has its own pitch, so with sound on you can follow by ear as well, but every signal is also shown on screen. Presses during playback are ignored. A progress counter shows which step you are on.

One wrong press ends the run on the spot, and your result is the last level you completed in full. Watch out for very fast double taps: an input less than 0.07 seconds after the previous one is ignored, so when the same colour repeats, leave a tiny pause before the second press.

Records and grades

Rankings go by the highest level completed, and finishing level 8 is the best result this test can record. The result screen adds a grade next to your level: F up to level 2, C from level 3 and B from level 6.

Because the sequence grows by one each time, it works well to lock the first three in as one chunk and then attach the later signals in new chunks of two or three. Some people say the colour names to themselves; others remember the pad positions as a hand movement. On a keyboard you can also turn the colours into digits and remember something like 1 3 3 2.

Controls

Click or tap the pads. On a keyboard, 1 is red, 2 green, 3 blue and 4 yellow. Buttons at the top toggle sound and switch the game screen between Korean and English. The layout is designed for landscape. This is a light record-chasing game, not a tool for assessing memory or health.
