Chess
The classic game of strategy, played under the official FIDE Laws of Chess. Checkmate the opposing king to win.
Play a friend on one device, or open an online room and invite them with a code.
How to play
- Choose On one device or Play online.
- Tap one of your pieces to see where it can go, then tap a highlighted square. You can also drag
the piece.
- White moves first, and the players take turns.
- The game ends by checkmate, resignation or a draw.
Rules
Every FIDE rule of play is included:
- Castling: the king moves two squares towards a rook that has not moved. Castling is not allowed
out of, through or into check.
- En passant: right after an enemy pawn moves two squares and lands beside your pawn, your pawn may
capture it as if it had moved one square.
- Promotion: a pawn that reaches the last rank becomes a queen, rook, bishop or knight of your
choice.
- No move may leave your own king in check.
